SUNDAY NOVEMBER 10TH
6:30pm – 8:00pm in the Sanctuary; dessert & drinks provided
Come, taste and see what God is doing through His bride, the church, in partnering with missionaries in Senegal.
Pastor Kwashie Amenudzie grew up under the influence of his parent’s traditional African religion (voudou) and became a Christian when a friend invited him to a gospel crusade near his home. He and his wife Davi are nationals of Togo, in West Africa. In 1993 they moved to pastor the International Baptist Church of Dakar. After 10 years of Pastoral ministry, they felt God calling them to a full time disciple-making, church planting ministry. They joined Crossworld, a U.S.-based mission organization, and moved to Thies where they became members and serve on the missions team for Thies Evangelical Baptist Church. New Life Bible Fellowship has partnered with this church in order to join hands and reach the people of the village of Mbadatte and its surrounding villages with the Gospel. Kwashie will share his story, what the needs are, and how the church in America can be blessed by joining hands and partnering with indigenous people.
Alice Statler, along with her husband Ed, served together for almost 20 years in Senegal. They spent their first two terms in Thiés helping with teaching, preaching and leadership formation. In 1996, Ed became the director of the Evangelical Institute of Dakar (IED) with the task of training present and future leaders for the church in Senegal. In 2004, Ed was diagnosed with cancer and entered the presence of His Lord in October of that year. In 2005, Alice returned to Senegal to continue the work. She currently teaches at The Evangelical Theological Institute of Senegal (ITES) and directs a discipleship and leadership-training course for women, particularly pastors’ and students’ wives. The Senegalese have started a missionary society with the goal of seeing Senegalese missionaries reaching their own people. ITES contributes valuable training to these workers and other leaders who are so much in demand.
Come and hear Alice share the burden God has put on her heart for the people of Senegal and how ministry to the Senegalese people has changed through her 38 years spent in Senegal. For more info on Alice visit https://www.worldventure.com/sslpage.aspx?pid=860
Everyone is welcome to attend so invite your friends, other missionaries or churches interested in missions. Information concerning New Life’s mission trip to Africa in April 2014 will be available at this event. Please RSVP to the church office 520-887-6447.
