Meet Our Staff

Greg Lavine

Senior Pastor

Greg is blessed as a father of four wonderful kids (Levi, Abbi, Samuel, and Grace) and as the husband of an amazing wife, Debra. Greg came to New Life as Senior Pastor in 1989.

Greg is astonished that the King of the universe loves him. Born a Jew, he learned Hebrew, Old Testament scripture, and historical traditions from birth. However, while he knew about God, he did not know God. As Greg approached his Bar Mitzvah at age 13, God woke his soul and opened his eyes to see Jesus as The Messiah. Over a few years, he found himself deeply satisfied in a real and meaningful relationship with God. Greg is passionate about Jesus, committed to His Word, and rejoices in the glory of a sovereign God. He loves Jesus’ bride, the church, making a difference in the world.

Greg covets family time, enjoys hiking, photography, sports, and everything outdoors. Give him his Bible, a hammock, sunshine, a cool breeze, and a glass of ice cold juice and he’s in heaven.

Kyle Fleischmann

Executive Pastor

Kyle is blessed to be married to his wife Kalisha and by their son Kadyn. Originally from California, Kyle lived in Bend, Oregon for ten years prior to coming to Tucson and New Life in 2013.

Kyle treated patients for years as a Physical Therapist and went on to direct outpatient practices. In 2006, he helped start Vantage Clinical Solutions, a company now serving dozens of healthcare clinics across the country with business and marketing needs. Kyle and Kalisha were involved in a church start-up in Central Oregon beginning in 2003 – Compass Community Church – where Kyle served as an elder, finance officer, men’s ministry leader and small group leader. In 2011, God began a call for Kyle out of business and into full-time ministry. The culmination of this calling began here at New Life.

The family loves reading, movies, whitewater rafting, scuba diving, drumming, and hanging out together.

John Beeson

Associate Teaching Pastor

John and his wife Angel wife grew up in Tucson and both graduated from CDO. After getting married young (21 and 19), John worked as a Detention Officer in Phoenix. They moved to Princeton, NJ for seminary and ended up staying there for 12 years, where their two exuberant and joy-filled children, Camille and Soren were born, and John served in his first pastoral calling. They loved the time in Princeton: especially the beautiful seasons (spring in Princeton is near idyllic), life in a small historic college town, and their church community.

They were surprised and delighted to have God call their family back to Tucson and to the family at New Life Bible Fellowship in the summer of 2015. In returning to Tucson they are blessed to unite with their parents, sisters, and their families. Angel and John love Jesus Christ and want to live lives that act as a megaphone for their Sovereign Savior, responding to God’s call and then calling others to repentance, salvation, and transformed lives through the explosive grace of our Triune God. They can’t wait to see the great things God has in store for New Life, our neighborhoods, and Tucson.

John loves sports, especially softball and basketball. He loves reading and music. He has participated in numerous mission trips around the world.

John reflects on Christianity, the church, and culture at www.thebeehive.live.

Lance Yarborough

Student Ministry Director

Lance is originally from South Carolina and married Mary Nell in 1992, shortly after graduating from college. They have two amazing “kids” (Jacob and Caroline) and are now entering a brave new stage of life as empty-nesters.

Lance served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years as an F-16 pilot, ending his tour with the Arizona Air National Guard at the Tucson International Airport. During the latter part of his time in the Air Force, Lance felt God calling him away from uniformed service and into vocational ministry. That led to completing a Masters degree in Discipleship and Church Ministries from Liberty Theological Seminary in Dec 2016.

New Life has been the church home for the Yarborough family since moving to Tucson in 2010, and Lance has served in various ministry positions. They have served together in Student Ministries from the very beginning, and look forward to what God has in store for them as Student Ministries Director.

Upon graduating high school, she decided to pursue a worship calling instead of performing arts. After arriving in Tucson in 2003, she became a worship intern at a local church where she met and married her husband, Darrin, and they started pursuing worship together. Having a diverse musical background, she loves finding ways to mesh together all generations and styles, so we can come together as a unified church when we praise Jesus.

After arriving at New Life in 2015, they jumped right into music ministry, helping in every area and department. Amanda found favor, moved into leadership, and is now partnering with her husband to raise up leaders around them in the Creative Arts.

Along with leading Junior High here, Donna is a homeschooling mom of 2 boys, Nathan and Zachary. She also enjoys game nights, coffee dates, and going to restaurants with family and friends.

Austen Albert

Tech & Media Associate

Austen is passionately in love with the Father. He adores God’s Presence and loves watching Him transform lives through the miraculous, both in hearts and in the physical world. He desires to see Jesus’ prayer “on Earth as it is in Heaven” invade every aspect of his life as well as the lives of the people of New Life and the world.

Austen is a worship leader, and does so through drums, guitar, vocals, songwriting, video production, and other nerdy technical things. Spending time with the people of God also occupies a good bit of his time, from his rad family to the equally rad yet hilariously awkward youth worship community, to the also rad Darrin and Amanda Cloud. He’s currently studying at Eternity Bible College for a bachelor of Biblical studies, and feels God’s call to vocational worship leading. He also enjoys flying his drone at high speeds.
